Description: This is a part-time, non-paid, position at the Michigan House of Representatives with the House Republican Caucus for the fall/winter semester. Responsibilities may include writing newsletters, press releases and columns, assisting with media tracking, media relations, assisting with news conference logistics, research projects, updating media contact lists, assisting with social media management and monitoring and miscellaneous office administrative tasks.
Salary Range: Possible School Credit (if applicable.)
Minimum Qualifications: Successful applicants will be working toward journalism/public relations degree (or related degree) with a strong interest in politics. Candidates also will have at least one semester of media writing or comparable experience. Applicants will be expected to be available 12-15 hours weekly, working mornings and/or afternoons through the semester.
