| Democratic Communications Photography Interns | ||
| General Description | ||
Interning for the Michigan House of Representatives is a wonderful way to learn about state government and the legislative process. Working specifically with the House Democratic Caucus and the Democratic Communications Department is a great way to experience first hand the role media, communication, and service play in politics. Photography Interns assist the Caucus photographer with setting appointments, editing and providing light camera shooting, and uploading photos to the website. On occasion, interns will also be asked to work for the video production coordinator, and other areas of public relations when needed. The program is designed to give a well rounded experience, including both substantial responsibilities and support of central staff. Space is limited and carpooling is encouraged. Openings available for spring, summer and fall semesters. |

| Minimum Qualifications | ||
Participants will be expected to work part-time, 10-20 hours a week to be eligible to earn credit through this program, depending on their educational institution. An intern is a reflection of the office. We are looking for interns who are professional in demeanor and decorum. A willingness to work hard, be punctual and dependable are a must. Strong computer skills, a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, and experience with websites are a plus. Training will be provided to assist with further office related computer use. An interest in state-wide politics and the legislative process are preferred for political positions. |
